Precious Moments and My Beating Heart

Earlier in the week, I encountered a "Precious Moment."  My youngest son Ja'Kobe has a HUGE problem getting up on time for school.  He has to be at the bus stop at 6:20 a.m.. Did I mention the bus stop is right in front of our house? Around 6:30ish, I hear a very light knock on my bedroom door and someone is whispering, "Mommy."  I have noticed with my boys if they have a feeling their actions or non-actions will get them in trouble, mommy is the go to person.  Anyways, he enters the room and proceeds to tell me he missed the bus.  The first thing that comes to mind, 1) this is my work from home day 2) it is just 6:30 a.m. - UGH!!  However, I did not complain (out loud).  I quietly got out of bed, brushed my teeth, got dressed, and off to school we went.  On the way to school, Ja'Kobe proceeds to tell me how much he loves and appreciates me.  He also goes into detail about his friends, teachers, and girls (teenage boys)!  When we arrive at school he opens the door to get out of the car, he looks at me and says, "Mom I love you and your beating heart."  What?!? My eyes begin to quickly fill up with tears.  Darn, that Ja'Kobe catches me off guard all the time with his sweet phrases.  Ja'Kobe missing the bus resulted in such a Precious Moment!

I am so thankful to God for allowing me to experience this Precious Moment.  I thank him for my beating heart. Although, I have heart issues, it does not define who I am.  I think we all get caught up in the day to day stresses of the world and we don't have time to recognize, enjoy, and marinate on the Precious Moments in our lives.  I challenge you to be on the look out for the Precious Moments in your life.

Thank you Lord for My Precious Moments and My Beating Heart!

I thought I would share a couple of pictures of my Ja'Kobe and me:

My First Blog Post - The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly!

Finally!  I have launched my very first blog.  I am so excited to share my life with you (which is definitely a complete 360 for me).  In the past, I have been such a private individual with respect to my health.  I was afraid that I would be labeled or placed in the "sick person" or "poor her" category.  I did not want to be limited by others because they were aware of my condition.  However,  over the last year or so, I have had so many revelations about life. One of those revelations being that life is very short!  And, sometimes you have to go through a storm to have a story.  God has blessed me in so many ways, and if sharing my life story can help others - who am I to decide not to share it! I will be sharing, "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly!" So fasten your seat belts...here we go.  A few things, I wanted to share:

  1. I am a Jesus Lover
  2. I am the wife of Curt Scott
  3. I am the mother of four children (De'Andre, Ja'Kobe, Nicholas, and Amanda)
  4. I have one sister (Francheryl) who I love dearly (and my nephew and nieces too)
  5. My sister and I are orphans (both of our parents are deceased)
  6. I have two heart conditions - Prolonged QT Syndrome and Congestive Heart Failure
  7. I have an implanted Defibrillator
  8. I struggle with my weight
  9. I struggle with medication dedication (side effects suck)
  10. I have AMAZING friends and family

Sharing a few pics of some of my favorite people:
